Welding Class 8

Types of Welding Joint

Butt Joint = A joint between two materials lying approximately in the same plane. Maksudnya, dua bahan/metal yg diletakkan pada surface yg sama macam dalam gambar kat atas.


Corner Joint = A joint between two material located approximately at right angles to each other in the form of an angle. Dalam bahasa senang, sambungan yg dibuat pada bucu sudut antara dua bahan/besi.


Edge Joint = A joint between the edges of two or more parallel or mainly parallel materials. Yg ini plak sambungan pada bucu yg permukaannya sama. Rujuk gambar untuk senang paham.

Lap Joint = A joint between two overlapping materials. Lap joint adalah sambungan dimana kedudukan sambungannya antara dua bahan yg berlapis.


Tee Joint = A joint between two materials located approximately at right angles to each other in the form of T. Takkan korang tak paham yg ni kan, dah namanya T Joint jadi kedudukan sambungan itu adalah macam huruf 'T'. Senangkan.

CARBON EQUIVALENT

What is Carbon Equivalent?
It is a numerical value of assessment in terms of carbon equivalent(CE) content for measurement of the weldability of material such as carbon steels & alloyed steels.
Maksudnyer, kita boleh tahu kandungan karbon dalam sesuatu material punyer chemical composition.
CE = %C + %Mn/4 +%Ni/20 + %Cr/10 + %Mo/5 + %Cu/40 + %V/10

Why we want to know CE ?
Sebabnyer walaupun semua jenis carbon adalah sangat stabil and require high temperature to react even with oxygen, tetapi, bila kita buat welding, joint tu mudah crack. Mengikut kajian yg dibuat oleh pakar-pakar welding (my lecturer)

CE<0.5 = Steels are Weldable
CE>0.5 = Crack Sensitive
CE<0.4 = Relatively Less Sensitive to Cracks
HIGH CE = Require preheating, use low hydrogen welding procedure

Sebab itu la kite kene pastikan CE sesuatu bahan yg kite nak welding itu. Daripada data ini, kita boleh tahu method welding mana yg sesuai digunakan untuk mewelding material tersebut.

TERMINOLOGIES IN WELDING

WELDABILITY of Materials

  • WELDABILITY = The ability of material to be welded

  • GOOD/HIGH WELDABILITY = The ease of the material to be welded using cheaper mean of welding process and simple technique

  • FABRICATION WELDABILITY = The ability of the material to have good relationship with the process to produce sound weld and good weld geometry, free from cracks and porosity

  • SERVICE WELDABILITY= The ability to produce weld that can sustain thermal and mechanical stresses, corrosion and other service requirement.
Example of Weldability of Materials
  • GOOD/HIGH WELDABILITY =Mild Steel / Low Carbon Steel

  • LOW/POOR WELDABILITY =Medium Carbon Steel, High Carbon Steel, High Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminium
Simple kan, sebab itula, bila kita buat kerja welding, harga untuk kerja-kerja welding high carbon steel, stainless steel dan aluminium biasanya mahal dari mild steel. Kerjanya lebih susah dan require special/specified equipment.. :0

Today's class is about Thermal Cutting.

What is thermal cutting?

Thermal Cutting is a process of removing material from the base metal by melting it or without melting it. The process must involve heat. Kalau tak dia tak pakai perkataan thermal tu. Kalau korang check kamus, thermal tu adalah adjective bagi heat. Biasanya potongan thermal cutting ini tak cantek. Kena touch up gune grinder. Tapi memang senang guna thermal cutting nih, cepat dan mudah.

What is examples of thermal cutting?
  1. Oxy Acetylene Gas Cutting
  2. Powder Cutting
  3. Air-Arc Cutting/Gouging
  4. Air Plasma Arc Cutting ( See above picture)
  5. Laser Cutting
  6. Electro Beam Cutting
When we use thermal cutting?
  1. Masa kita nak potong pipe, besi dan yang sewaktu dengannyer. Biasanya kita ada attachment. Untuk buat bulat ada circle cutting attachment. Rupanya macam jangka lukis. Untuk straight punye cutting, biasanye dia punyer rail macam railing keretapi atau railing langsir rumah korang. Orang yg ader skil jer boleh potong dgn cantek. Experience is the best lesson for this type of work.

Magick at Chelsea

First competitive game for Hiddink against Aston Villa really show some improvement in terms of game tactical and flow of the ball. Deco, Lampard, Ballack and Anelka really save the day for Chelsea yesterday. Deco mmg tere drible ball, Ballack pula nyaris-nyaris menjaringkan gol pada minit-minit akhir perlawanan kalau bukan Brad Fridlle yg menjadi penghalangnya. Aston Villa yg sebelum ini banyak mendapat perlawanan melalui gol nasib akhirnya terpaksa akur dengan magick yg diajar oleh Hiddink kepada pasukannya. Kemenangan ini membuka peluang untuk Chelsea utk terus bersaing dalam perebutan juara liga EPL. Diharap Hiddink dapat mencuba magick yg lebih hebat menjelang perlawanan-perlawanan seterusnya kerana sudah pasti pasukan lain akan cuba sedaya upaya mereka untuk menghalang Chelsea dari mengutip mata penuh apatah lagi kalau mampu menang dengan Chelsea. Halangan demi halangan harus ditempuh dengan konsisten supaya MU dapat dihambat dan disekat.hhehehe p/s.. Malaysia bile lagi nih nak jadi cam EPL.

Welding Class 4


Gambar kat sebelah ini adalah gambar soldering. Ala, joining method yg kita buat pd board letrik warna hijau untuk sambungkan kaki led atau perintang pada litar tu. Kenapa aku nak cerita pasal solder ni kerana da org rasa yg soldering nih sama dengan welding. To be honest, soldering is not welding. This is because the material used for joining is not homogenous with the base metal. Besides that, the material melts at lower temperature than base metal. The common soldering material is alloy of lead and tin. So, when the melting temperature is lower, automatically we know that the material strength is lower than the base metal. Dia punyer joint pun tak kuat lar. Senang tanggal/break la.


Gambar ini plak adalah brazing process. Brazing pun bukan welding. Kenapa? Jawapan die sama dengan soldering kat atas. Material utk joint dgn base metal tak homogenous(sama). Bila tak sama, die punya characteristics dan properties pun berbeza. Biasanya, material utk brazing process adalah alloy of copper and zinc. Material ini adalah lebih rendah die punyer strength. Bila strength dah rendah maknanya melting temperature pun rendah. Kalau dah rendah melting temp, rendah stregth maknaya joint strenth pun rendah la jugak. Nampak cam sama kan dengan soldering.


Habis apa bezanya kedua-dua proses ini.
  1. Nama pun dah lain jadi lainla kan. Hehhehe.
  2. Material yg digunakan berbeza.Solder adalah material utk soldering manakala brass adalah material utk brazing.
  3. Brass punya strength is higher than solder. Brazing punyer joint lagi kuat dari solder.
Ituje la kot. Apa-apa pun korang boleh rujuk buku-buku perpustakaan utk pemahaman yg lebih mendalam. Takpun tanyer lecturer welding technology korang. Diorang sure tau punyer. Berapa tahun main welding nih. Bubbye.

Tak Tahu atau Buat Tak Kesah


Berita Kekejaman Israel yahudi zionis sudah jarang kedengaran di media ketika ini. Biasalah media cetak dan elektronik mainstreamdi negara kita mmg macamtu. Berita yg hangat seperti kes penceraian , politik dan hiburan mmg itulah yg diorg suka. Cerita zionis ikut musim ajer. Saya lihat dulu mmg nampak kurang sikit. Tapi sekarang nampaknya mereka sudah lupa dan tanpa segan silu lagi nak pergi makan burger kat McD. Actually, welding can be classified into solid phase and liquid phase welding. Solid phase welding has been mention in welding class 2, so this class will be explaining about liquid phase welding process.. .
What is Liquid Phase Welding Process?

Welding Class 2


Bila welding boleh terjadi?
Welding can happen when the faces of the material to be joined is in solid phase or in liquid phase.

Apa itu solid phase?
Soild phase ialah dalam keadaan pepejal. Dalam welding, solid phase yg dimaksudkan adalah dalam plastic condition.
Plastic condition adalah keaadan material dimana material itu sudah melepasi dia punya maximum tensile strentgh. Kalu korang ingat material tensile strength punyer graf, plastic condition adalah keadaan material yg kita tarik, dia takkan kembali ke saiz asal. Berbeza dengan elastic condition dimana kalau kita tarik/elongate, material itu akan kembali ke saiz asal.

Apa itu Solid Phase Welding Process?
Solid Phase welding process is a process of joining material without melting it either by heating, or by pressure or by using both. This is by bringing the material at the joint into plastic condition suitable for welding to occur. Boleh paham tak? Ala kiranya takdelah kita panaskan material itu sampai cair. Selagi dia tak cair kiranya solid phase punyer welding laa..

Jangan Buang Sampah



Hari ini saya datang opis macam biasa. Tension betul banyak betul sampah dekat depan opis nih. Kita bersihkan dan kutip masuk dalam tong sampah, esok-esok ada jer manusia yg ringan tangan buang sampah dekat sini. Hari tuh kak ina dah sound budak-budak sekolah yg buang sampah kat situ, tapi mungkin hati mereka dah agak tertutup untuk menerima nasihat dan mungkin juga akal mereka masih belum dapat memahami kenapa kita tak boleh buang sampah merata-rata. Namun begitu, memang tak dinafikan hal ini juga berlaku kepada orang yg sudah dewasa. Dah org besar pun macam tu, apatah lagi budak-budak. Sikap tidak bertanggungjawab ini yg sudah dilentur dari rebungnya memanglaa menyusahkan hidup manusia sejagat.

Membuang sampah ketempat yg betul bukanlah suatu perkara yg susah, malah untuk buang sampah merata-rata adalh lebih susah kerana seseorang itu harus berhati-hati sebelum melakukan perbuatan ini supaya tidak dapat dikesan atau ternampak oleh org lain. Saya menyeru, dikesempatan ini supaya semua rakyat Malaysia sama-samalah menjaga kebersihan persekitaran kita, kebersihan itu dapat mewujudkan persekitaran yg sihat dan cantik serta selesa untuk kita juga dan bukan org lain. Buat silap tu biasalah tapi membetulkan kesilapan itu adalah lebih baik dan mulia. Sama-samalah kita menjaga kebersihan. Buanglah sampah ditempatnyer.

Welding Class 1

Sekarang ni aku kerja dalam bidang oil and gas. In my work right now, knowledge in welding technology is very important especially when we are dealling with client whose like to ask question especially the QA and QC person. Apapun, ilmu welding ni memang sangat penting dan aku berterima kasih kepada PM sunhaji Kiyai Abas yg telah mengajar aku tentang Welding masa belajar kat Shah Alam dulu. Thanks prof. So, today aku nak share dengan korang pasal fundamentals of welding engineering.

First of all, you all kena tahu pasal definition. Aku pernah jumpa klien yg asyik tanyer ape nih, aper tuh, tak dapat jawab malu beb, siap dengan kampeni pun boleh malu. Oleh, todays lesson is about definition.

What is welding? Prof Sunhaji cakap kat aku dulu, welding is a joining process that is intended to make the material at tha joint or joint surfaces as homogenous as possible with the base material.

Korang tau tak apa tu homogenous. Homogenous tu, kalau sesuatu bahan, die punyer chemical composition, metallurgical, mechanical or physical characteristics samala. Sebab kalau tak sama tak bleh welding. Korang carilah method lain nak joinkan die guna gam ker. Nak welding kene sama, tak sama pun mesti dekat dekat nak sama. penting nih tau.

On the other word, i can say that welding is more of a process of creating a continuity of material homogenity at the joint with the base material. Oklaa bro, cukupla banyak tu coretan aku pasal welding harinih. Kalau korang nak wat kerja2 fabrication atau tie in panggil la aku. Company aku boleh buat beb. Adios

Sejarah Hari Valentine

One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men — his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured.

According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl — who may have been his jailor's daughter — who visited him during his confinement. The Magician To Chelsea?

EPL yang hanya tinggal tiga bulan lagi untuk tamat masih lagi tidak kurang aksi, konflik dan drama yg menarik. Scolari yg baru sahaja hilang kerja akan digantikan oleh Guus Hiddink yg amat sinonim dengan gelaran The Magician. Hiddink yg terkenal dengan magiknya menukar pemain tidak ternama kepada supersoccerstar akan berkelana ke London. Adakah berita ini akan menjadi kenyataan atauy tidak, kita tunggu lah saja keputusannya. Namun begitu, berita ini pastinya disambut dengan gembira oleh penyokong Chelsea kerana Chelsea memang memerlukan pelan penyelamat kecemasan bagi memastikan perebutan juara liga masih dalam genggaman. ..p/s...tak sabar nak tgk hiddink pakai baju chelsea..hehehe...

Berakhirnya Karier Scolari di Chelsea

Kekalahan dan keserian yg melanda keputusan pasukan Chelsea sememangnya berita buruk buat Felipe Scolari. Kehebatan rekod Jose Mourinho sememangnya sukar dicapai oleh mana-mana Jurulatih baru chelsea. Scolari tidak sempat menhabiskan semusim di liga perdana inggeris gara-gara kelemahan taktikal dan juga nasib malangnyer. Tiada pasukan yang mahu kalah, namun begitu tiada pasukan yang akan senang-senang mendapatkan kemenangan. Scolari harus pergi dan nampaknya bakal penggantinyer harus bersedia dengan cabaran dan harapan menggunung pemilik dan peminat fanatik hooligan chelsea. Biar siapapun pengganti Scolari, aku harap chelsea dapat menang dalam perlawanan yg berbaki 14 game lagi. Bak kata sharkawi jirim, bola itu bulat. Chelsea boleh menang dengan semangat, taktikal dan juga nasib baik. Apapun, selamat jalan, sayonara Scolari. Patah tumbuh hilang berganti. Hidup pasukan Harimau Muda. Hahhahahahha

Kartun yg setaraf filem animasi antarabangsa ini mmg menarik dan melambangkan identiti masyarakat Malaysia. yg lagi best, filem ini dihasil oleh anak anak muda yg memang kreatig habis. Local made yg lagi best dr international punyer filem. Pergi tgk kat wayang tau. Support diorg yg kerja keras sampai dua tahun setengah nak siapkan filem geng tu. Boiler Service / Overhaul

The steps to service boiler is not very difficult but the job may be tedious. Below are the simple steps of boiler servicing that i have done.
  1. First of all we must make sure that all necessary line is blinded. Always consult the boiler man where and how much is the blinding point.
  2. After that, open the manway, do not forget to use the blower to ventilate the boiler.
  3. Then, it is the time to dismantle all the 13 essential fittings that required to be service. All this fitting need to be clean and change their gasket.
  4. Next is to open the boiler door. This is where we will be able to see the boiler's tube. These tubes must be clean by power brush. The objective of cleaning the tube is to check whether there is crack on the weld seam. Besides that, we can observe the straightness of the tube when we look through the tube. If we see full moon that's mean the tube is straight but if not we know that the tube is bending.
  5. Furthermore is to clean the fire side or chamber. Next is the water side. Please make sure the confined space entry procedures is followed strictly to avoid any accident.
  6. Appoint third party inspector to inspect the boiler.
  7. Contact the JKKP/DOSH to inspect and approved the machine certificate of the boiler.
  8. When, DOSH happy with the result, you can box-up and do housekeeping. Work Finish and go back rest, Yahooo...

Hmm mmg susah kalau tak pernah pakai e-blog.Seharian aku dok memandang skrin lcd ni wandering how to use this e blog.Seharian jugak aku mencari-cari macam mana dan dimana aku nak paste kod nuffnang.Whatever, akhirnya aku gagal jugak.
